Recently there have been two artists - Lamont and 2Tall - that have made me (more) aware of the potential of production software such as Ableton Live. The above video is an excellent example of what can be done (live) with the right combination of hardware, software strong skills and a nice collection of vinyl.
Wouldn’t mind getting my hands on a setup like this. One day gadget, one day.

Respect due to those concerned as previously stated this showcases the potential of Ableton Live & various other equipment ! A wicked tidy inspirational routine
using nice loops & sounds ! big up Lamont & 2Tall ! keep pushing the envelope chaps !
O,o WOW! this takes me back to the 1980’s… Not the new music.. The style in how it is mixed… I had built a 21 track (tape decks all connected to each other) that hooked into my 2 sad turntables ( the type found on 1980’s and earlier record players.. With a combo of felt and tape I made thems records slide just right. :~) Like Ableton I could track all my messing around and re-run a track or part of a track back. I also found the way to speed the tapes up and down giving me a new way to include things… Add to this a reverb machine (old radio shack) a sound spacilizer (also radio shack) a equalizer (radio shack), found McIntosh Amps, some other amps found (garbage finds I fixed up) I home made mic, (can’t rap myself), an 8 track recorder, and inputs for most anything you could need back then… I played in my bedroom as a kid… Did a few little gigs for money, then O,o sold all that stuff. I had an insane amount of records then, and still have over 300 tapes I made. O,o They still play. I suck Red Bull Balls compared to you, but the track layers and using more than just 2 turn tables to achieve your mix is AWESOME. Oh, I also had the system I made hooked into local radio so I could layer on them as well.
Top it all off this entire thing about 250 pounds of stuff and speakers, was portable. And, could be reconfigured to mix and playback in dozens on ways to get the kind of mix I wanted. Of course a I was 14 and clueless like I am today…
But, I went on far to long and who cares about my old crap… Well for one thing I was told by many adults back then I was making crap and no one would ever do anything with that, and no one would want to hear it! Well here I am years later looking to hear what I so wanted to create. :~) A new fun way to play music.
Thank you for the memories, and dang man keep up that AWESOME style of mixing.
