“We want to showcase the incredible talent and musicianship of those who dedicate themselves to this intricate and often misunderstood artform. To do this we are holding a royal rumble – an all out war, where the best have to challenge each other in a series of one-on-one battles, where winner takes all.”
“The Concept centres around Turntable Battles with a difference – 2 contestants compete on 2 separate DJ rigs…The Event runs over 7 weeks – 4 heats, 2 semis and 1 massive final, with each heat consisting of 3 rounds of 2 mins per DJ with a total of 8 DJ’s entering the comp.
“The Rules of Engagement: Each battle will comprise of 3 x two-minute rounds nightly between two turntablists, showcasing on vinyl or Serato Vinyl juggle routines, word play, scratching and turntable trickery the likes of which have only ever previously been seen at the world-renowned DMC Championships. The winners of these heats will then compete in two quarter-finals and a semi-final, culminating in the top two squaring off in a grand-final.”
